Social Labeling

Social Labeling : The practice of attaching a label or a mark to a product to indicate that it has been made under conditions of fair labour standards. There are no international rules on this, and many fear that compulsory social labeling would be the first step towards discriminatory treatment of sensitive products to protect some domestic industries. Proponents of the idea say that such is not their intent. Rug mark is an example of voluntary labelling. Products bearing this label are made without child labour.
