Azeotropic Mixtures

Azeotropic Mixtures : Mixtures of liquids, which when distilled reach a stage at which the composition of the vapour is the same as that of the liquid. In actual practice it is possible to form azeotropic mixtures of solvents, the mixtures having characteristics widely different from those of the original components. It is possible to mix solvents together so that the resultant azeotropic mixture has a greater vapour pressure, a lower boiling point and a lower flash point than each of the individual components and conversely
