WiFi (Wireless Fidelity)
WiFi (Wireless Fidelity) : (ICT) (HE, GEN) A set of standards for facilitating wireless networks in a local area, enabling WiFi devices to connect to the internet when in range of an access point. It is also the trade name for a popular wireless technology used in home networks, mobile phones, video games and more and a mark of interoperability among devices adhering to the 802.11b specification for Wireless LANs from the institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). The term Wi-Fi is sometimes mistakenly used as a generic term for wireless LAN
