Wrought Iron 2
Wrought Iron 2 : Very pure iron mixed with a little slag (iron oxide or silicate), rolled and hammered after it leaves the furnace. The slag forms fibres in the iron making it different from the crystallised metal as in cast iron. Wrought iron resists rust and is very tough but can be hammered into shape; it is used for pipes, chains, etc
