Zero 2 :
(Math) (1) A mathematical symbol indicating the absence of quantity (the empty set) or magnitude (the number zero). (2) The value of the independent variable of a function for which the function value is zero. (3) A mathematical marker designating an empty position in a positional system of number notation. See: Absolute Zero;Number System. Note: As a number, zero has special properties: a±0 = a, a0 = 0, where a is any number. division by zero is not a permissible operation in mathematics
