Bypass 2
Bypass 2 :
(1) A method of diverting the flow of water from its usual direction by means of one or more valves; when used in a fire department pump it allows the pump to continue to operate when all hose lines are shut down. (2) A device within a breathing apparatus regulator that bypasses the regular mechanism and allows high-pressure compressed air from the cylinder directly into the facepiece. See also: Churn Valve
