DDR 1

DDR 1 : (ICT) A type of RAM memory technology. It stands for 'Double Data Rate'. It is a method that memory makers use to speed up their chips without having to increase the clock rate. Before DDR came along, the RAM chip supplied data on the rising edge of the clock but with DDR the chip supplies data on both the leading and falling edge of the clock. So doubling its data rate. There are a family of DDR chips: (a) DDR delivers 100 million chunks of data per second. (b) DDR2 delivers 200 million chunks of data per second. (c) DDR3 delivers 333 million chunks of data per second. (d) DDR4 delivers 400 million chiunks of data per second
