Dock Receipt 8 : A steamship company form evidencing receipt of the goods at a pier. Copies of the form are made available to shippers as a means of expediting handling at piers. The dock receipt is used to transfer accountability when the export item is moved by the domestic carrier to the port of embarkation and left with the international carrier for export. The Dock Receipt controls the ownership of the goods until the Bill of Lading is issued
