GTPS 4 :
is a scheme for the registration of BT telephone numbers, which allows priority use during an emergency. The Police may invoke the scheme during an incident and only registered telephones will be able to make calls. (However, any telephone will be able to receive calls). All North Somerset premises that may be used in a major emergency and key staff should have their telephones registered. For further information contact the EMU. The scheme is under review and is likely to be expanded and renamed Fixed Telephone Privileged Access Scheme FTPAS
