Hoechst HTP High Temperature Pyrolysis : Also called Hoechst-Uhde. A two-stage process for making a mixture of acetylene and ethylene by cracking higher hydrocarbons. In the first stage, a fuel is burnt with the stoichiometric quantity of oxygen. In the second stage, the hot combustion products from the first stage are contacted with the vapor of the hydrocarbon to be cracked
