Kalvar
Kalvar : A reprographic process in which microscopic gas bubbles provide white pigmentation over a dark background. The photosensitive layer is a solid solution of a blowing agent in a resin. Exposure to ultraviolet radiation liberates nitrogen from the blowing agent, and heat softens the resin, permitting the nitrogen to collect in the form of sub-micron sized bubbles. The optical resolution of such a process can approach the ideal value since the bubbles can be as small as the wavelength of light
