Karman Vortex Street
Karman Vortex Street : (Fl Mech) A double row of eddies in the wake of a cylinder at right angles to a fluid stream. Note: The eddies shed alternately from one side of the cylinder and then the other and can be observed when steady winds blow past smoke stacks, bridges, and other objects. Vortex streets produce singing wires (aeolean tones) when blowing past power transmission lines
