Maximum value of the pressure rise per unit time (dp/dt)max during explosions of all explosive atmospheres in the explosion range of a flammable gas in a closed vessel of 1 m3 in volume under specified test conditions. If (dp/dt)max is measured in a volume different from 1 m3, Kmax is obtained by numerating (dp/dt)max with the cube root of the vessel volume. See also: 20 Litre Sphere and 1m3 Vessel
