Lysis
Lysis : (Med) (1) Gradual decline of disease symptoms and abatement of fever. (2) Dissolution of cells, such as bacteria and red corpuscles into a structurless liquid. Note: Some bacteria, notably the streptococci, release materials which destroy the white blood cell walls that develop to seal off the bacteria from the rest of the body
