Mud Pulse Telemetry

Mud Pulse Telemetry :

(n.) Drilling. A method of transmitting LWD and MWD data acquired downhole to the surface, using pressure pulses in the mud system. The measurements are usually converted into an amplitude- or frequency-modulated pattern of mud pulses. The same telemetry system is used to transmit commands from the surface.
