Odor 2 : (Physiol; Psych) A chemical stimulus affecting the olfactory nerve cells (the organs of smell). See: Chemical Senses; Smell. Note: Many Burning Materials have distinctive odors that can be readily identified: e. g. , rubber, cloth, pine, feathers, etc. Dense smoke and strong odors overpower the sense of smell and the ability to recognize specific odors decreases rapidly with continued exposure.
