Olefins 3 : Hydrocarbons of the ethene group, containing twice as many hydrogen atoms as carbon atoms and a double bond (join between carbon atoms). The simpler olefins are gases; the more complicated ones are liquids; the longest olefin molecules form waxy solids. They are found in petroleum, and are used for burning and for making alcohols
