Pilot Study 1 : A pilot study may be used where the intervention is innovative, or where it is new in your locality even though it may have been well evaluated elsewhere. It can be used to test the process of delivery of the intervention, or to check that the expected outcomes can be achieved, before wider rolling out of the intervention. Pilot studies can help to reduce the risk of expensive but ineffective interventions being carried out on a large scale
