Positivism
Positivism : An approach to knowledge based on the conviction that the human and social sciences, including the study of international relations, must emulate the physical or natural sciences by employing empiricist methods. This means facts must be separated from values and beliefs to allow for objective investigation and explanation of empirical or observable phenomena (namely, fads). Critical theories dispute the feasibility and desirability of completely separating facts and values in the human and social sciences
