Pre-positioned Equipment Program (PEP) 1 :
"Each PEP unit consists of a $2.2 million cache of standardized equipment pods and a Special Events Pod (SEP). The pods are deployable to state and local governments facing a major chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, explosives or natural hazard event of national emergency within 10 to 12 hours".
