Pressure Surge 4
Pressure Surge 4 : Caused by an abrupt change in the flow velocity or pressure in a pipeline and the resultant shock wave can cause a quick and substantial increase in pressure on the peipline, even causing damage. Precautions must be taken and the provision of a surge tank where long pipelines are involved with high flow rates. See also: Water Hammer
