Prevention 09 : Action toward preventing occupational injury, disease or fatality. Primary: Health Promotion and Specific Protection. Goal: To protect healthy people from developing a disease or experiencing an injury through interventions aimed at the determinants of health or injury e.g., controlling potential hazards and health promotion on injury/illness prevention education. Secondary: Early Diagnosis and Prompt Treatment. Goal: To halt or slow the progress of a disease in its early stages (if possible) through appropriate interventions aimed at those who have been diagnosed with an illness or where serious risk factors have been identified, such as treatment or health promotion e.g., suitably modified work for injured workers, physiotherapy and health education. Tertiary: Restoration and Rehabilitation. Goal: To reduce the impact of the disease and/or to prevent further deterioration, and to promote quality of life through interventions aimed at those with complicated, long-term health problems such as cancer and chronic musculoskeletal pain e.g., active rehabilitation, chronic pain management
