Probation Period : When hiring new employees, many employers use probationary employment periods to ascertain whether the new workers will be able to handle the duties and challenges associated with their new job. Also called trial period. Probation or probationary periods, which can be from two weeks to three months (depends on the law of the land), helps the employer evaluate the employee before making the employment permanent
