Protection 14 :
"The Protection mission area includes actions to reduce the vulnerability of critical infrastructure or key resources in order to deter, mitigate, or neutralize terrorist attacks, major disasters, and other emergencies. Protection focuses on deterrence, mitigation, and responseoriented activities to prevent an attack from occurring, whereas prevention centers on the recognition of threats via information sharing and intelligence analysis".
