Proxy Settings

Proxy Settings : (ICT) An internet term. A proxy server stores localised copies of often-visited web sites. A proxy server does this to make accessing these pages quicker and use less overall bandwidth. A web browser can be set up to always look first to a local proxy server for a web page. If the page is not on the proxy server, the browser then goes to look at the 'proper' web site. A browser has a "Proxy setting" which is the IP (Internet Protocol) address of the Proxy server to be used. In Internet Explorer 6, the proxy settings are at Tools->Internet Options -> Connections
