Public Information System


Public Information System : (ICT) A system designed to present information to the public or large audience all at the same time. These systems make use of large display technology such as bill-board sized LED displays and networked display monitors. For example: (a) In airports, presenting the arrival and departure information on monitors and electronic boards is essential for the smooth operation of the airport. (b) Train stations also need this information. (c) Sometimes major sport events and public gatherings will make use of public information systems. (d) Motorways have gantry displays for the latest situation or speed restrictions. (e) These systems need to be easy to update and maintain to ensure that the public is viewing the most recent information
