Public Law 83-115 :
Drought Relief. “The 83rd Congress, 1st session…enacted Publi Law 115 in order to provide assistance by the Department of Agriculture in agricultural areas affected by drought. This action amends Publi Law 38, 81st Congress, and provides that Public Law 875 must be invoked prior to assistance being provided by the Department under sections 2 (b) and (d) of Public Law 38. Section 2 (b) of Public Law 38, as amended by Public Law 115, provides loan assistance by the Department of Agriculture in areas declared ‘major disaster’ by the President under authority of Public Law 875…”.
