Pumper 04
Pumper 04 : A piece of fire apparatus equipped with a pump 500 gpm or larger, plus hose, ladders, and other equipment. Pumpers are classified according to their discharge rate at 150 psi at 10 ft. of lift, and discharge rates vary from 500 to 2000 gpm. Formerly they were also classed according to their discharge pressure (at rated capacity), Class A being 150 psi and Class B, 120 psi. The use of the Class B rating, i. e. , pumpers rated at 120 psi, has been discontinued, thus rating according to pressure is obsolete. Modern pumpers should deliver 70 percent of their rated capacity at 200 psi and 50 percent at 250 psi
