Purex Process 1 :

A process to separate uranium and plutonium from each other and from fission products by means of solvent extraction. The solvent used at the SRS was a solution of tributyl phosphate in "Ultrasene," a high-grade kerosene. The process was used in the F Canyon. The HM process replaced the Purex process in 1959
