Quenching / Dumping
Quenching / Dumping : The potentially hazardous reaction is terminated by addition of a suitable component. The material can stop the reaction by dilution, lowering the temperature (e.g. with ice) or even through chemical inhibition. Another possibility is an emergency transfer of the reaction mass to another tank containing e.g. water or a suitable solvent
