Radioiotope Scanning :

(Med) A method of determining the location and amount of radioactive isotopes within the body by measurements taken with instruments outside the body. Note: Usually the instrument, called a scanner, moves in a regular pattern over the area to be studied, or over the whole body, and makes a visual record. Cf: Whole-Body Counter.
