Atomic Constants

Atomic Constants : (Phys) A set of constants fundamental to atomic physics; chiefly: e, the electron or proton charge; me, the electron mass; mp, the proton mass; c, the velocity of light; N, Avogadro's number, the number of molecules in a molar mass; and h, Planck's constant, the uncertainty limit of conjugate physical measurements. Many other constants can be derived from this primary set. c = 2. 997925 x 1010 cm sec-1, e = 4. 80298 x 10-10 esu, h = 6. 6256 x 10-27 erg sec , me = 9. 1091 x 10-28 g, mp = 1. 67482 x 10-24 g, N = 6. 02252 x 1023 (g-mole)-1. See: Atomic Mass; Electron Mass. Atomic energy = nuclear energy. (RNo-U- FrSc)
