Rate of Perceived Exertion (RPE) 1 : A scale created to determine the intensity level of an individual's exertion. Numeric values are assigned according to the individual's fatigue, environment, muscle factors, etc. It takes into account the subjective aspects of an individual's physical and emotional state, rather than relying solely on an objective percentage of age-predicted maximum heart rate
