Riga Last


Riga Last : A traditional British unit of volume used for measuring timber. The Riga last is named for the Latvian capital, Riga, which was a major port for the shipment of timber from Russian forests. A Riga last is 80 cubic feet (2.265 cubic meters) of square-sawn timber or 65 cubic feet (1.841 cubic meters) of round timber. See also
