Risk Assessment 002 :
(1) The process, including both risk analysis and risk management alternatives, of establishing information regarding an acceptable level of that risk for an individual, group, society, or the environment. (Gratt 1987, 244). (2) Product or process which collects information and assigns values to risks for the purpose of informing priorities, developing or comparing courses of action, and informing decision making. A risk assessment can be the resulting product created through analysis of the component parts of risk. (DHS Risk Lexicon 9/08)
