Safety and Health Information Bulletins - (SHIBs)

Safety and Health Information Bulletins - (SHIBs) :

Introduction: Safety and Health Information Bulletins (SHIBs) are one tool OSHA uses to inform internal staff and the public of significant occupational safety and health issues concerning hazard recognition, evaluation, and control in the workplace and at emergency response sites. The scope of SHIB topics and the procedures for the development of SHIBs are outlined in the OSHA Instruction CPL 02-00-065 [CPL 2.65A]. SHIBs are organized either by Topic or Date. The listing by Topic is an alphabetical listing by subject matter. Within each major subject heading the bulletins are listed alphabetically. The listing by Date is a listing that places these bulletins in a chronological listing, with the most recent year listed first. All the SHIBs, HIBs, and TIBs can be searched by subject matter or by the year issued. SHIBs replace Hazard Information Bulletins (HIBs) and Technical Information Bulletins (TIBs) which provided similar information. All the documents (SHIBs, HIBs, and TIBs) issued since 1984 are listed in this compilation. New documents are posted as they are developed.
