Scaling 1 : (1) (Fire Pr) Climbing, as a ladder or up a precipitous face with the aid of a rope. (2) (Techn) a. Flaking or shedding of thin chips or flakes from a surface. b. Becoming encrusted or covered with deposits, such as the inside surfaces of pipes and boilers. (3) (Math; Techn) A method of analyzing structures or phenomena by modeling an object or system with reduced dimensions to simplify handling and save costs. In the mathematical interpretation, parameters are expressed in dimensionless form by dimensionless . numbers.
