Accident Reports

Accident Reports :

Reporting accidents at work is a legal requirement. The information enables the enforcing authorities to identify where and how risks arise and to investigate serious accidents. The enforcing authorities can then help and advise people on preventive action to reduce injury and accidental loss. A variety of data banks have been set up to store and process this type of information; successful examples include FACTS operated by TNO, WOAD by Det Norske Veritas, and MHIDAS from HSE, AEA Technology and the European Union Major Accident Reporting System (MARS) operated by the EC Joint Research Centre at Ispra, Italy. The sharing of accident data is encouraged by CEFIC and industrial sector groups have established data banks for clorine, hydrofluoric acid, vinyl chloride, PVC, hydrogen peroxide, polyethylene, steam crackers, etc
