Secondary High Explosive 1 : (Comb) A high explosive which is relatively insensitive to heat and shock and is usually initiated by a primary high explosive. Also called: Noninititing High Exnlosive. Note: This type of explosive re-quires a relatively long distance and time to build up from a deflagration to detonation and will not propagate in small-diameter columns. Secondary high explosives are used for boosters and bursting charges
