Secondary Wave 1
Secondary Wave 1 : A seismic body wave that involves a shearing motion in a direction perpendicular to the direction of propagation. When it is resolved into two orthogonal components in the plane perpendicular to the direction of propagation, SH denotes the horizontal component and SV denotes the orthogonal component. Also known as S waves and shear waves. (PDC)
