SEER 4

SEER 4 :

An abbreviation for seasonal energy efficiency rating, a U.S. and Canadian measure of the efficiency of an air conditioner. The rating is equal to the total output of the air conditioner over an entire cooling season, in Btu, divided by the total electrical energy consumed, in watt hours. Since this is a ratio of two energy units, the result is a dimensionless (unitless) number. In 2005 the required SEER for home central air conditioning systems was raised from 10 to 13.
