Semi-Batch Reactor


Semi-Batch Reactor :

A type of batch reactor from which at least one reactant is withheld and then added at a controlled rate, usually to control the rate of heat generation or gas evolution; both heat generated and concentrations vary during the reaction process; products are removed from the reactor only upon conclusion of the reaction process. An operation in which some materials are added to the reactor at the start, with one or more other reactants added in a controlled manner during e.g. one week in the testing facility. The type of reactor has to be known for the Scale-up of reactions
