Sewer 3

Sewer 3 :

A channel or conduit that carries wastewater and stormwater runoff from the source to a treatment plant or receiving stream. "Sanitary" sewers carry household, industrial, and commercial waste. "Storm" sewers carry runoff from rain or snow. "Combined" sewers handle both. Channel: A natural stream that conveys water; a ditch or channel excavated for the flow of water. Wastewater: Usually refers to effluent from a sewage treatment plant. See also: domestic wastewater. Runoff: That part of precipitation, snow melt, or irrigation water that runs off the land into streams or other surface water. It can carry pollutants from the air and land into receiving waters
