Six Year Defense Program (SYDP) : The official DoD document which summarizes forces and resources associated with programs approved by SECDEF. Its three parts are the organizations affected, appropriations accounts (RDT&E, operations & maintenance, etc.), and the 10 major force programs (strategic forces, airlift/sealift, R&D, etc.). R&D is Program (6) Under the annual PPBS cycle, SYDP is published normally three times: October, January and May.
