Slope Wind 1
Slope Wind 1 : Highly localised convective winds that are caused by local heating and cooling of a natural incline of the ground. There are two types of slope winds: (1) Anabatic winds - Upslope winds. Anabatic winds occur when daytime solar radiation heats air at lower elevations causing it to flow upslope. (2) Katabatic winds - Down slope winds. Katabatic winds occur when air at higher elevations is cooled (often at night) and is subsequently pulled down slope by the force of gravity
