Smart Card 1 : (ICT) (IS, ECOM) A smart card is a small device the size of a credit card with built-in electronic memory of personal data, such as identification and financial information. It can store everything from digital cash, to be spent and used like a travelers check, to health records. To transfer and receive data, a smart card must be inserted into a smart card reader. Smart cards are more secure than a magnetic strip card since they can be programmed to self-destruct if the wrong password is entered too many times
