Social Dimension of the Liberalization of International Trade

Social Dimension of the Liberalization of International Trade : A concept concerned with the effects on people of the structural changes brought about by the liberalization of international trade. Underlying this issue are the considerations that not everyone benefits from these changes, and that workers in certain occupations are under threat from imports made by workers in countries allowing inadequate labour standards. The International Labour Organization has established the World Commission on the Social Dimension of Globalization to address the issue.
