Spark 1 : (1) (Comb) A small, incandescent particle, usually related to burning wood, but also including glowing particles produced in a metal griding operation. Note: A mechanical spark may be produced by impact between two hand objects. (2) (Electr) A localized, instantaneous electrical discharge, accoz-panied by heat and light, occurring between bodies or points at different electrical potentials.
