Specific Barrier Model
Specific Barrier Model : A fault model consisting of a rectangular fault plane filled with circular-crack sub-events developed by Papageorgiou and Aki (1983) for interpreting the observed power spectra of strong ground motion records. It is a hybrid of deterministic and stochastic fault model, in which the sub-event ruptures statistically independently from each other as the rupture front sweeps along the fault length. See Papageorgiou (2003) for its latest review
