Spectral Ratio 1
Spectral Ratio 1 : The ratio of two amplitude (or power) spectra. In classical linear theory, the ratio between transverse acceleration and rotation rate for time windows containing surface waves is proportional to the dispersion curves, the frequency-dependent local phase velocities (see Lee and Trifunac 2009). The H/V spectral ratio of horizontal to vertical component records of ambient seismic noise (so-called Nakamura method) is used to estimate the fundamental resonance frequency of the sedimentary cover layers in microzonation studies (see Chapter 14 of the Manual)
